Two baby California Sea Lions were born on June 4th at Brookfield Zoo. They’re the first of their kind birthed in the famed Chicago zoo in almost 30 years. The two (as of yet nameless) siblings can’t be viewed yet as they are kept away from the public eye while they bond with their mother and learn to swim. Curator of marine mammals for the Chicago Zoological Society, Rita Stacey, said in a press release, “We couldn’t be more thrilled with the birth of these two sea lion pups, which is a coordinated effort between us and our partner facilities.” Check out pictures of the two pups and their mother, provided by Brookfield Zoo, below.
