Bruce Springsteen joined both Steve Van Zandt and Jackson Browne on Thursday night (September 21st) during their pair’s respective sets at the late-Gregg Allman‘s Laid Back Festival at Holmdel, New Jersey’s PNC Bank Arts Center. The cameos come just a week after “The Boss” and Van Zandt surprised fans by jamming with Paul McCartney on “I Saw Her Standing There” during the former-Beatle‘s Madison Square Garden gig. Springsteen appearance wasn’t the only high-profile guest taking the stage that night — J. Geils Band frontman Peter Wolf joined Van Zandt and his Disciples Of Soul to perform the Geils’ Band classic “Freeze Frame.”
Springsteen performed a total of four songs — two with Van Zandt; “It’s Been A Long Time” and a duet of “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out”; and with Jackson Browne he played “Take It Easy” and “Our Lady Of The Well.”
Bruce Springsteen has long been a true fan and supporter of Jackson Browne — and in 2004, inducted him into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
