Billy Gibbons collaborates with John Fogerty in the studio

CCR‘s John Fogerty recorded a new song featuring his touring mate, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons. “The Holy Grail,” includes Gibbons’ signature guitar playing as well as his vocals. The song will be released June 8 and will be included on Fogerty’s next album. In a radio interview, Gibbons said, “I actually joined John in the studio. We composed a song together and decided to lay it down.” The two recently kicked off their Blues and Bayous tour.

Gibbons also has a new album on the way. He described it as going back to his “bluesy roots.” His band on the album consists of ex-Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum, guitarist Austin Hanks and blues harmonica player James Harman. Big Bad Blues will be out in September.
