Miles Teller will star opposite Tom Cruise (who plays Maverick) in the long-awaited sequel to Top Gun. Val Kilmer is also reprising his role as Iceman. Joseph Kosinski is directing. Teller reportedly beat Nicholas Hoult and Glen Powell for the role as the son of Maverick’s wingman, Goose. He was played by Anthony Edwards in the original, and when he died, Maverick blamed himself.
