You might think recycling your wrapping paper is a very green decision, but it turns out you might be doing more harm than good. Due to lamination, gold foil, glitter, and other decorative flourishes, gift wrap is actually pretty harmful for the environment. The same can be said for traditional plastic bows, paper bows with sticking backing don’t belong in your recycling bin, and neither do ribbons. To help reduce waste you’ll want to get gift wrap that is recyclable.
