Sting has just released a new version of his 1999 hit, “Brand New Day.” Sting premiered the track, now titled “Brand New Day 2019,” in New York City’s Times Square on New Year’s Eve (December 31st) during Fox’s New Year’s Eve with Steve Harvey: Live From Times Square. The new single includes the original signature Stevie Wonder harmonica track with an updated, hip hop-tinged backing.

Although a Top 20 hit in the UK — peaking at Number 13, the original version of “Brand New Day” tanked on the Billboard Hot 100 charts just missing the Hot 100 at Number 103. The Brand New Day album topped out at Number Nine on the Billboard 200 and at the 2000 Grammy’s scored awards for both Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.
