Remember, a new year means your vacation days reset, so it’s time to begin planning some vacations. Skyscanner looked at flight information in the UK and found the cheapest day to book a flight is a Sunday and the cheapest day to fly is Friday. Specifically, travelers can save 21 percent by departing from the UK on a Friday compared to a Sunday.

They also found that Wednesday tends to be the most expensive day to book a flight, and by booking on a Sunday you could save four percent. Skyscanner also says to save money when booking flights you should consider a nearby airport that’s actually less expensive to fly into; you should remember that you don’t have to travel with the same airline both to and from your destination, and you can set up a price alert to be notified of prices rising and falling for a specific route.
