A previously unreleased Tom Petty song has been released as the teaser to the upcoming compilation, The Best Of Everything. The new tune, titled, “For Real,” was tracked back in August 2000 and is among the highlights on Petty’s first career-spanning collection, which will be released on March 11th.
The Best Of Everything features all of Petty’s hits with the Heartbreakers, his solo work, and side band Mudcrutch. The 38-track set includes two previously unreleased tracks — “For Real” and an alternate version of the title track, which restores a never-heard second verse to the song that was originally recorded for 1985’s Southern Accents album.
