As if technology wasn’t creepy enough already, Amazon is reportedly working on a voice-activated device that can recognize human emotions. The device will be worn on the wrist, and is reportedly a health and wellness product.
Bloomberg reports the device has a microphone that can figure out a person’s emotional state just from the sound of his or her voice, and that the technology could even assist the wearer in interacting more effectively with others. A beta testing program is underway, but it’s not clear whether the device will ever be sold or how far along it even is in development.
