It was a battle between the “Stars of ’84” last week when Bruce Springsteen beat out Madonna with his latest album, Western Stars, snagging the Number One spot on the UK charts. Western Stars easily debuted at Number One after selling 45,000 units this week — beating Madonna’s new set Madame X by a cool 25,000 copies. Western Stars marks “The Boss'” 11th UK chart-topper.

Stateside, Madonna clearly beat out Springsteen, with Madame X selling 95,000 units. Springsteen’s Western Stars took in 66,000 units.
