Chicago public libraries saw a HUGE increase of returns after elimination of late-fees

Who knew that all you need to do to get your stuff back is not threaten with a punishment?! Apparently Mayor Lori Lightfoot did because Chicago’s public libraries saw a 240% increase on book returns after the cease of late fees.

It’s easy to misplace a borrowed book, only for it to turn up later. THEN you don’t want to return it to face some sort of monetary punishment. This was definitely a change for the good! And, I can finally return that stack of Dr. Suess books…
