Nobody wants to say “Don’t let the bed bugs bite!” and mean it literally. Orkin released it’s annual list of cities with the most bed bugs from December 2018 to November 2019, and Washington, D.C. came in first place, while Baltimore, Maryland came in second.
Orkin’s entomologist says the two cities are consistently ranked high, and it could be due to “their size and amount of domestic and international travel in and out of them.” Hartzer adds, “While bed bugs have not been found to transmit any diseases to humans, they can be an elusive threat to households.”
Take that D.C. and Baltimore, because Chicago only came in… 3rd place. Okay, so it’s not a win, but at least we didn’t take home the Bed Bug Crown!
