A funny thing happened during the Super Bowl yesterday…
Ellie, no. I am the “diabeetus” guy. https://t.co/ZsJrviWrwT

Every time Kansas City Chiefs Coach Andy Reid popped up on the television, people thought they might be seeing the “Diabeetus guy.” That guy is actually actor Wilford Brimley who’s filmography includes more than 45 films (Cocoon being my fav) and many TV shows.
Supposedly I’m coaching this evening? pic.twitter.com/beC4joa2wz

Brimley became known as the “Diabeetus guy” due to his pronunciation of, “diabetes,” in a series of ads for Liberty Medical he was featured in.
Brimley was a good sport in all the confusion on Twitter, at one point tweeting, “I’m shocked this generation still knows who I am.”
The commercial was made popular with many outside it’s targeted audience when parodied on Family Guy…
Either way the REAL Coach had a lot to celebrate last night!
