The good news: Dairy Queen is still around and going strong. It definitely makes me feel like it’s summer to go out to DQ for a Blizzard. The bad news is, the older they get, we have to spend another penny every year when they celebrate their birthday. Penny-pinching aside, the ice cream chain that started in Joliet turns the big 8-0 this year. Even though DQ’s birthday isn’t until June, their celebrating early with a BOGO deal.

Until March 15th, you can stop by Dairy Queen and get a Blizzard for 80 cents after buying one for regular price. So, you can get one with a friend or if one’s just not enough for you, you get a couple for yourself. The current Blizzard of the Month flavor is Oreo Mint for St. Patrick’s Day, so you can try that out while you grab a flavor you know and love.
