The Chicago Blackhawks announced Monday (April 27th) that they’d fired President and CEO John McDonough, who’d been with the team since 2007.
McDonough is considered a major force behind the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup in 2010, 2013 and 2015 after they hadn’t previously won it since 1961. However, the team missed the playoffs the past two seasons and haven’t made it past the first round since they won the Cup in 2015.
