The Pentagon has released three videos showing what are described as “unidentified aerial phenomena,” after they’d previously been released by a private company. The Navy had acknowledged last September that the videos were real, and they’re being officially released now, according to the Pentagon, quote, “in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos.”

The videos show infrared camera recordings of the unidentified objects rapidly moving, and Navy pilots can be heard on two of them expressing amazement at how fast they’re going. Former Democratic Senator Harry Reid, who served as Majority Leader, tweeted yesterday (April 27th) that he was glad the Pentagon released the videos, but added, quote, “it only scratches the surface of research and materials available. The U.S. needs to take a serious, scientific look at this and any potential national security implications.”
