Those e-scooters are set to come back to Chicago this summer

Remember those rentable electronic scooters that people were finding in trees and in the lake?  Apparently, they’re making a return this summer.  In this strange time where we are all supposed to be stuck indoors, Mayor Lightfoot has declared that the shareable scooters are still on track with their initial pilot program.  I hope those scooters at least come with wipes…

You may recall that a whopping 10 companies tried their hand at renting scooters throughout the city last year.  It was chaotic: e-scooter riders sped, rode on sidewalks and threw scooters off rooftops.  This time around, fewer companies (2 or 3) will try for a second summer of e-scooter madness.  Details are still up in the air and there’s new details to consider in this program including the one that’s keeping us all indoors right now.  Is it the right time for e-scooters to return to Chicago?
