When Chicago was crowned the bed-bug champion, it didn’t seem like we could get a worse number 1 title. Welcome to 2020 where now Cook County is approaching the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the country. As of writing this article, Queens County in New York currently holds that spot with 56,889 cases reported on Wednesday, May 13th. Here in the Cook, there are 56,406 reported cases as of Thursday, May 14th. With that gap closing and reopening plans being considered, it seems that Cook County will be passing Queens.
The state as a whole comes no where close to New York’s COVID-19 reported case numbers, with NY having over 340,000 and Illinois reporting under 85,000.
