When it comes to the best fast-food French fries, opinions across the U.S. differ. Spruce, a company that produces CBD products, recently analyzed Google Trends data to determine the most popular fast food fries and most popular style of French fries in each state.
They found that McDonald’s fries took the top spot in 16 states, geographically spread out across the country, while Burger King and Taco Bell were tied in second place with six states each (even though Taco Bell nacho fries were recently pulled from its menu.) Arby’s and Popeyes took the hearts and stomachs of four states each… And NONE of these were Illinois’ favorite! In fact, Illinois’ number one fast food french fries were Steak N Shake! Who knew?!
When it comes to French fry styles, those in the Midwest were split evenly between naming waffle fries and curly fries the best styles, while the South put waffle fries in the top spot. Those in the West were also split, but between curly fries and cheese fries, while those in the Northeast favored home fries.
