The City of Chicago has found their 2020 Millennium Park Christmas Tree. The 45-foot blue spruce comes from the yard of retired CPS teacher, Catherine Townsend, in Morgan Park. The tree will be decorated and on display through Thursday, January 7th.
While the tradition lives on, one involving the annual Christmas tree will be very different this year. The lighting ceremony for the Millennium Park tree will go virtual this year due to the pandemic. You’ll be able to watch that on YouTube. For obvious reasons, the ceremony will not be public as to avoid gathering crowds around the festive event. At least you won’t have to look for parking to watch the ceremony that is slated for 6:30 PM on Thursday, November 19th.
Here we go!
