The Chicago Teachers Union has reached a tentative deal with the city government that will allow partial reopening of the city’s schools starting this week, Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced.

The agreement allows students in prekindergarten through eighth grade to return to classrooms but on a slower schedule than the city had wanted. Chicago is the nation’s third-largest school district with 340,000 students!
