French Bulldog is Chicago’s favorite dog breed

Yesterday, March 16th, the American Kennel Club (AKC) announced that French bulldogs are Chicago’s favorite dog breed.  Although they are now the second-most popular purebred in America, Frenchies are top in several other major cities including Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Dallas.

The breed is so popular that it knocked the German shepherd, which held the second-place position since 2009, to third place, while the golden retriever and bulldog rounded out the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.  And at the very top, the number one dog breed in America is the Labrador retriever for the 30th straight year.
