A new steakhouse is drawing criticism on social media over its $100 food and beverage minimum policy.
The flurry of online discussion began after the account of The Realest Podcast Ever tweeted a photo of a sign on Steak 48’s door noting the policy. In response to the criticism, Steak 48 said in a statement, in part, “Like many restaurants in our industry, we’ve had to make some updates to our policies, like the $100 per person minimum, in effort to support our staff and restaurant’s operations, and provide the ability to be successful as a steakhouse designed for the full sit-down experience…”

Steak 48 has four locations: is was their Philadelphia location that drew attention, but they also have a $100 minimum policy instituted at their Chicago location.
