The ‘708’ area of Chicago is adding a new area code: 464.  Once the city runs out of phone numbers to attach 708 to, it will start plopping 464 at the beginning of phone numbers.  This is expected to begin in January.

So, if you have yourself a 708 area code and someday get a call from a number with a (464) area code, it may be a call from a neighbor!
