Did you ever wish your favorite dessert was better for you than a healthy snack? One study might have just made your dream come true…
Tufts University in Boston created a “nutrient profiling system” they’re calling the “Food Compass.” The Food Compass scores food from 0 through 100: with 100 being perfectly healthy and 0 being as unhealthy as it gets. For example, Spinach got a perfect 100. It has been applied to 8,000 different types of food and drink.
So where did ice cream and granola fall on the Food Compass? Well, chocolate ice cream with nuts scored 35 points. Not very high but a coconut-and-chocolate granola bar only scored a 15.
