What’s Illinois’ worst invasive species? It’s not the silver karp or the Asian Longhorn Beatle… It’s the spotted lanternfly!

Ever seen one of these? If you do, you’re advised to kill it! Apparently, the pest is a threat to grape, orchard, and logging industries. The Department of Agriculture also wants you to send pics of the dead bug so they can track where spotted lanternflies are appearing.
The spotted lanternfly originates from China and has been a nuisance to American states since September 2014.
