Study Finds Mozart calms a Stressed Dog way more than a Harry Potter Audio Book

When you leave your dog home alone, do you leave the TV on? How about music?

A study by Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland found that leaving classical music on for your furry friend may be way more effective than keeping the TV on. The study played for stressed dogs Motzart and the “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” audiobook (In the U.K., “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” is known as “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”).

The study found that dogs were quicker to lay down and stay relaxed significantly faster from listening to soothing classical music than hearing a calming human voice.

So you may want to consider leaving the TV off and turning on the radio before you leave for work in the morning if your dog has a tendency to misbehave while you’re out for the day.
