Well, if you didn’t get a chance to check out that awesome Stranger Things recreation of Max floating, in Plainfield, then you may be S.O.L…

The Plainfield family that came up with that very unique Halloween decoration tribute was asked by the village to take it down. The request came after a neighbor complained about the traffic created by visiting spectators.

So Max is no longer floating for now… not because someone played Kate Bush‘s Running Up That Hill, but because of annoyed neighbors.

According to Aubrey Appel, the creator of the display, neighbors said, “We support you. We’re behind you.” So it was a surprise when that turned out to not be true. Another neighbor said Appel’s daughter was crying when the family was told the display needs to be taken down.

The Appel family will meet with the village and try to bring the display back in time for Halloween.
