The 17th Annual “Izzy’s Shop with a Cop Day” took place a the South Loop Target yesterday. More than 70 officers took children on a holiday shopping spree. The “Izzy” in the event title refers to Former Chicago Bears player Israel Idonije who started the event in an effort to help build positive relationships between police and children.
Each participating child got to spend $100 on educational gifts for themselves. According to ABC 7 Chicago, one child bought their favorite book with her $100 shopping gift.
