Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field, was administered CPR and then was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he is in critical condition. The NFL also postponed the game between Buffalo and the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night until further notice.
Hamlin took a big hit in the chest area on a tackle in the first quarter of Buffalo’s game on Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin got hit by Bengals receiver Tee Higgins as Higgins ran upfield after a catch. Hamlin got up, then suddenly collapsed.
Damar Hamlin, who is 24 years old, was a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft out of Pittsburgh. He became a starter in Week 3 this season and has been a starter for the Bills since then.
