It’s official: Aaron Rodgers is heading to the New York Jets. The Packers are also giving up their 2023 first-round pick, in exchange for New York’s first-round pick, plus a second-round pick and a sixth-round pick.
The Jets will also absorb the remainder of Aaron’s contract, although it’ll probably be renegotiated.
Aaron will NOT wear #12 for Jets, even though New York legend Joe Namath said he could have it. Instead, Rodgers will wear #8, like he did in college at Cal.
Interestingly, Aaron’s predecessor at Green Bay, Brett Favre, also moved on to the Jets in 2008, as his career was winding down.
Rodgers is 39. He’s played all 18 of his NFL seasons with the Packers who are expected to replace him with 2020 first-round draft pick Jordan Love.
