The Wrigleyville Culver’s restaurant years in the making could open this month.
A Culver’s sign recently went up outside its storefront at 1111 W. Addison St., and the restaurant could open as soon as Oct. 9, franchise owner Baron Waller said.
“We just have to get our license and approval from the health department, so we’re really excited to be opening soon,” Waller said.
Most of the restaurant’s team has been hired, but Culver’s is offering drop-in job interviews to people interested in applying until 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Culver’s is moving into the four-story building across the street from Wrigley Field that replaced a popular Taco Bell. The $36 million development includes a Chase Bank branch, a climbing gym and a new Taco Bell, according to Crain’s.
The 3,700-square-foot restaurant will have room for indoor dining and a walk-up window for to-go and pickup orders.
Culver’s has been plotting an expansion to Wrigleyville since 2014.
Plans to open at 3500 N. Clark St. fell through in January 2021 when Culver’s pulled out of a proposal to open in the first floor of a 47-foot mixed-use building at that location.
“We’re just so excited about bringing Culver’s to the city,” Waller said. “People won’t have to go outside the city anymore to get our great hospitable service, butterburgers and custard.”
