Calling all Jeremy Allen White doppelgangers.
Nearly three weeks after a Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition popped up in the streets of lower Manhattan, cities around the world have decided to host their own celebrity lookalike contests. Now, it’s Chicago’s turn.
The Jeremy Allen White lookalike competition will take place 1 p.m. Saturday on a “big hill” in Humboldt Park, 1400 N. Sacramento Ave., according to a flyer shared with Block Club. There will be a $50 cash prize for the winner and “some cigarettes,” it says.
Chicago is joining in on the strange new phenomenon of celebrity lookalike contests, hosting one for Jeremy Allen White, who plays Chicago chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto in the hit FX on Hulu series “The Bear.”
The acclaimed actor has long been tied to Chicago. Before his star turn on “The Bear,” White played Phillip “Lip” Gallagher on the TV series “Shameless,” set on the South Side.
While it’s unclear who is organizing the Chicago event, it’s the latest in a string of lookalike contests. Chicago will be at least the fifth city to host one following Chalamet’s in New York City — which went viral after the “Call Me By Your Name” star crashed it.
Since then, Dublin has held a lookalike contest for Irish actor Paul Mescal, where Mescal himself showed up and the winner won 20 euros, “or three pints”.
Harry Styles doppelgangers flocked together in London Saturday and Dev Patel lookalike contenders gathered Sunday in San Francisco.
