While the Bears may have not made it to the big game, one local rescue puppy will be representing the City of Big Shoulders at this year’s Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.
Chicago-based animal rescue One Tail at a Time announced Tuesday that one of its shelter puppies has been chosen to take the field during Puppy Bowl XXI.
The chosen puppy, a male dog named Boone, is one of 142 rescue puppies from 80 different shelters across the country that will compete.
Boone will be playing for Team Ruff as they battle it out against Team Fluff at PROGRESSIVE® Stadium as the pups seek to claim the Walmart “Lombarky” Trophy.
Boone came to One Tail at a Time from Day of the Dogs shelter in Texas. After arriving in Chicagoland, he went into a foster home that cared for him until he was adoption-ready
The Puppy Bowl kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. on Animal Planet.
