R.I.P. 112-year-old Richard Overton, the oldest U.S. WW2 Vet

Richard Overton, who was America’s oldest World War Two veteran and also believed to be the oldest living man in the U.S., died yesterday (December 27th) at a rehab facility in Texas. He was 112.

Overton was released on Christmas Eve after having been hospitalized with pneumonia. Overton was in his 30s when he volunteered for the Army and was at Pearl Harbor just after the Japanese attack in 1941.  He said the secret to his long life was smoking cigars and drinking whiskey.
