According to website GasBuddy.com, The U.S. is down $0.20 from last month and continues falling. Right now, the nation’s average is now down to $2.219 (with Illinois being at an average of $2.17 per gallon).
Patrick De Haan, an expert for the aforementioned website believes that average could fall down to $1.99. De Haan also believes that some stations in America will see gas prices as low as $0.99 per gallon. His predictions are based on an increase in gas production and the sudden lack of use with people staying home due to Coronavirus.
It’s unlikely we’ll see that $0.99 price at any gas stations near Chicago, but you will want to fill up soon!
