Cinemark is aiming to reopen its movie theaters in July

Movie theater chain Cinemark is aiming to reopen its theaters in July, with CFO Sean Gamble telling investors Wednesday (April 15th) that they’ve been, quote, “modeling an approximate four-month ramp up, anticipating a July 1 reopen,” The Wrap reported.

However, he said everything wouldn’t all be brought back at once, saying they anticipate staggering theater re-openings, have reduced hours, and potentially distancing people in theaters, for example, by selling half as many seats so people could be spaced out. Cinemark, AMC and Regal all closed their U.S. theaters last month because of the coronavirus pandemic.
