The Pentagon is creating a new task force to investigate UFO sightings by U.S. military aircraft, which have happened several times, called the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force.
The Defense Department said in a statement Friday, “The mission of the task force is to detect, analyze and catalog UAPs that could potentially pose a threat to U.S. national security.” The move comes after the Pentagon in April declassified three videos made by U.S. Navy pilots that appear to show unidentified flying objects.

The Senate Intelligence Committee said in June that the Defense Department and the intelligence community should give a public analysis of the UFO sightings.
