Happy Birthday to Eric Clapton!!  Since his stint in the Yardbirds, through John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & The Dominos, and his solo career, Clapton has come to personify the best in blues-rock guitar.

In his solo career, Clapton gave us unforgettable hits including “Lay Down Sally,” “After Midnight,” “I Shot The Sheriff,” Clapton’s cover of “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” “Have You Ever Loved A Woman,” and, “Wonderful Tonight.”  Some of his best also came from his time spent with aforementioned bands, such as Derek & The Dominos’ “Layla,” Cream’s “Tales Of Brave Ulysses” and The Yardbirds’ “Too Much Monkey Business.”
