NASCAR announced Tuesday (July 19th) that it’s going to hold its first-ever street race, to take place in downtown Chicago.

The Cup Series race will be held on July 2nd next year, during NASCAR’s 75th season. There will also be an IMSA sports car race the day before, as well as music and entertainment along the 2.2-mile street course.

The 12-turn course will include Lake Shore Drive, Michigan Avenue, and South Columbus Drive, and pass through Grant Park. The start and finish line and pit road will be in front of Buckingham Fountain.
