Soldier Field wasn’t looking its best during the Bears’ first pre-season game…
The NFL said that this field met minimum testing standards. We clearly need to re-evaluate what is an acceptable surface for players to compete on. We need new testing metrics looking at the performance and safety of every field. The NFL can and should do better. pic.twitter.com/Vh1NDgLQBk

But there’s good news! Soldier Field will be resodded before their first regular season game. The field will get Bermuda grass for the first time.
Somehow, this resodding is going to take place in a small window of time: Soldier Field will host a Chicago Fire game, a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert, a Bad Bunny concert, and a Rammstein concert before that first game on September 11th. So the grass will have a week to grow and take hold in the stadium.
We’ll all get to see how that turns out in just a few weeks!
