Today (February 20th, 2017) has the esteemed honor of being, not one, but three national holidays.  National Love Your Pet Day is a holiday meant for pampering your animal loved ones.  Most households in America have pets, so plenty can take the time to celebrate; your pets will thank you.  While you give your pets a treat, you may want to give yourself the very tasty treat of cherry pie.  With cherries often being associate with George Washington, it makes sense National Cherry Pie Day falls close to the first president’s birthday.  The cherry pie also has a dark side, having been used as a recurring motif in the cult classic, Twin Peaks.  President’s Day celebrates the leaders, past and current, who have served as president of the United States.  The holiday commemorates George Washington’s birthday (February 22nd) and always falls on the Monday before that day.  So give your pet some loving and salute your slice of cherry pie to your favorite president!
