Summer’s On 94.7 WLS!

Summer’s on!

Here’s what the 94.7 WLS jocks are planning for the summer:

I plan to play lots of golf and ride my Harley all summer long! When I’m done doing that, I’ll play more golf and ride my Harley some more! For energy though, I’ll do some al fresco dining…

Kim 6:00-10am M-F
Expand my cooking horizons beyond grilled cheese and peanut butter and jelly

Sneak onto the beach early (after the lakefront reopens) so that Hudson can swim in the lake before someone yells “no dogs allowed”

Lay in the grass with my daughter and my dog and stare at the sky

Spend time with friends and family (responsibly) because I’m tired of me…can you imagine how my daughter and dog must feel??!!

Find a babysitter that I trust with my baby’s health

Read a trashy romance that has absolutely no redeeming qualities and is full of gratuitous sex

Greg Brown 10a-3p M-F
Can’t wait to go to a drive-in…it’s been years!!!

Gonna find a bench on the east end of Navy Pier and spend the afternoon watching the boats drift by.

Take the river boat tour which swings out onto the lake as well.

Get together with family and friends around a grill filled with sizzling burgers.

Put some air in the tires and go on a bike ride.

Cook some pizzas on the grill.

Before Summer comes to a close, I would like to try stand-up paddle boarding.

Oh, and I would love to rent a boat to and take my friends on the lake.

You can count on me cheering on my son at his baseball games this summer.

Since I like to dream big, I’d like to buy a Jeep Wrangler and go on a road trip, with the top down.

And right before summer ends, I’d like to plan and host a backyard lobster bake.

Brian Peck 7p-11p M-F

Before summer slips away, I hope to learn how to kayak.

Summer is about experiencing the outdoors, so more of my favorites like running more, boating on the lake, reading, and traveling to Montreal to take my son to college.

MUST head out to Michigan to vacay for a week or two.

MUST finally redo the bathroom downstairs and clean out and redo my voiceover studio!

MUST sample some restaurants I haven’t dined at or picked up some carry out in years!

MUST get the fam to head out and have a picnic and fling the frisbee around and have some laughs!

#1  To continue to see my loved ones – healthy, safe and prosperous.

Spend time at The Broken Oar. This has been my favorite summer destination for decades. It’s got all of my favorite things: huge outdoor space, water, boats, bikers, lots of guys, drinks, food and live music. I’ve met a few boyfriends at that place, far better than Tinder!

Boat on the Chain O’Lakes. Boating anywhere always makes me super happy but boating on the chain is the best! So many great bars and restaurants, one stand out destination is Blarney Island.

Visit the huge rooftop deck at Navy Pier. I haven’t been there yet.

Float in my backyard. I set up a kiddie pool with a raft to make it happen and I’ve been doing it practically daily since Memorial Day weekend.

Enjoy fires in my backyard. The caveat is that I need to disassemble my inflatable pool to do that because embers could destroy it.

Get an inflatable hot tub for my backyard. I’d lose the kiddie pool. Unfortunately, inflatable hot tubs were totally sold out for a few months. Now I am seeing some available but with inflated (pun intended) prices.

Go for walks and bike rides with my son. This is challenging because he is 15 years old and the last thing he wants to do is bike, walk or do anything with his Mom.

Kayak with my daughter. Unlike my son she is not too cool to hang out with me (she’s 23, past those awkward teen years). We have friends who live in Tower Lakes, IL and hope to kayak on their private lake soon.

Hang out at the massive beach at Warren Dunes Park in Bridgeman, MI. It’s only a 90 minute drive from Chicago but feels like California, it’s my favorite beach. There’s even yummy food trucks and cute store on site plus it’s located inside a huge state park with campgrounds.

Eat at The Stray Dog in New Buffalo, MI. As long as I’m in New Buffalo I’d also love to hang with Tom O’Toole on his beautiful boat!

Take my kids to a drive-in movie. I loved it as a kid, they’ve never experienced it.

Hit up farmers markets.

Throw a party in my backyard. Or at least have a few people over at a time. Nothings better than hanging out with friends on a beautiful summer evening.

Road Trip to Cedar Point… We love rollercoasters in this house. 🙂
