The holiday season can be stressful, so one animal adoption agency is urging shoppers to take a much needed “PAWS”.
“We’re taking puppies to the mall to help people take a ‘PAWS’ from holiday shopping to relieve some stress,” said Tom McFeeley, Associate Director of Media & Community Relations for PAWS Chicago.
The puppies began their campaign along Michigan Avenue. Guests entering the Shops at North Bridge were greeted by wagging tails and PAWS staff. The initiative aims to raise donations and awareness for pet adoption.
“It’s a good time to remind people that we’re here, that the work is important, that we’ve had to do more this year,” said McFeeley.
Pet adoption is not available on site but McFeeley said the first stages of the adoption process can take place during the event.
“They can certainly meet the puppies here, start the process, fill out some paperwork and get on their way to finding these dogs their forever homes,” McFeeley said.
The special pop-up event began on Giving Tuesday and runs every Saturday through December. You can find more information here.
