CosMc’s in Bolingbrook saw more than double the number of visitors that an average McDonald’s saw in the same month, according to a report from WTTW.
The first CosMc’s, McDonald’s new beverage-centric spinoff, opened Dec. 7 in Bolingbrook, taking over the former Boston Market space at 285 N. Weber Road.
The “small-format concept” is also a more efficient use of space for the McDonald’s Corporation, WTTW reported, generating three times the number of visits per square foot than the average McDonald’s.
“There were so many people in the drive-thru lane that if they had more capacity, the traffic numbers would have been a lot higher,” RJ Hottovy, head of analytical research at data platform Placer.ai, told CNN.
CosMc’s features specialty lemonades and teas, blended drinks, coffee and some food items, including McDonald’s classics such as McFlurry and egg McMuffin sandwiches.
Another 10 pilot locations are planned by the end of 2024, including in the Dallas-Forth Worth and San Antonio areas, Patch reported.
