The city of Park Ridge will hold its first-ever Pride Festival next month.
The inaugural Pride in Park Ridge celebration will take place June 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the northeast corner of Prospect and Crescent avenues near the Park Ridge Community Church.
“The Inaugural Pride Day of Park Ridge is a special opportunity for our community to celebrate the full diversity of our town, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+,” Rev. Scott Himel commented.
Park Ridge Mayor Marty Maloney is scheduled to issue a Pride Proclamation for the city, and former Illinois State Rep. Greg Harris, who is openly gay, will speak at the fest.
This event is hosted by inclusive congregations, organizations, and volunteers from throughout the community — and will feature a range of activities including music, food, an inflatable obstacle course and bungee run, and much more.
